Bowling: Rick Harding 3/13
First surprise of the night, Skipper Stainton relegated to pencil and paper duty. To be replaced by young Rick Harding. Skipper for the night Steve Nutland started badly when he could not catch the coin for the toss. However, after a couple of attempts called right and choose to bowl. More experienced bowlers shown the way by young Rick who bowled 3 overs 3/13. Nutters had a nightmare 3 overs for 41. Unable to dislodge last man who scored 32 not out. Curdridge ended 111 for 5.
Porchester innings given momentum by Dave Taylor who blasted 25 not out in his own style of wild swishes and elegant cover drives. Gale joined Nutland at the crease and everything was looking good until Nutters hit ball high into air and was run out for 22. Young came and went relatively quickly. Gale (23 not out) and Harding then saw Portchester home with three balls to spare. Goodey for the second game running not required to wield the bat
