It is essential that everyone has completed the forms before the first game and pass them on to the captains. This a requirement in our pursuit of Clubmark status. We hope to have an assessment visit in early May.
Why pursue Clubmark? Well if we do not achieve Clubmark status funding lines for the pavilion are not open to us.
So please do it as soon as possible.

TOUR
Craig is arranging fixtures for a tour to Worcester in the close season. Further details to follow.
OVERSEAS PLAYER
We welcome to the club Rhett Macdonald. Rhett is 18, originally from Zimbabwe and comes to us highly rated from Australia where he played in the same competition as Micky Q this season. Lester Betreen also speaks very highly of him.
Rhett arrives in this country on Thursday 24th April just in time for the friendly against Fareham and Crofton on the Saturday.
He describes himself as an attacking leg spin bowler and a decent mid order batsman, who likes to inspire bowlers when fielding!
I am sure he will get his picture in the paper, it will make a change from Staints and Lance. (cheers Ian! - Ed.)
COLTS
The club have entered teams in the SEHCA Leagues at u-11 and u 13 levels.
Pat Douglas, Dave O’Neill, Ed Jordan and Paul Hungerford are coaching these teams but really do need some help on match days. Please do offer them help, do not wait to be asked.
3RD TEAM GROUND
Some of you may have already heard that Fareham Borough Council informed us on 9th April that Cams Alders was not available for cricket this season. Fareham Heathens have been provided with a grant to install drainage on the Rugby pitches. This work will start in May and continue throughout the summer. Everything is being done by John Buckle to attempt to get us pitches in surrounding boroughs. It is appalling that the Council leave it so late to inform us when clearly works of this magnitude have been planned for months.
Charles Jordan has written an excellent letter to the Ward Councillors stating the displeasure of the club and its members with this situation. It also addresses the fact that 3 cricket pitches have been lost in Portchester over the last decade. The seed has again been sown about a return to the Castle for the 3rds in seasons to come.
Remember first friendlies 26th April
