Portchester U13s (15pts) - 91 for 4 (20 ov) beat Sarisbury B U13s (4pts) – 76 for 5 (20 ov)

Congratulations to the U13s who chalked up a win in only their second outing as a team.
We won the toss and chose to bat on a lovely sunny morning at the School. Sam Stainton played well for his 23* accelerating the scoring after we were on 37 at the half-way point, to take our total to a competitive 91 for 4 off the 20 overs. 37 extras also helped out greatly, Matt Crouch and Stan Rolls chipped in with 10 and 9 respectively.
Sarisbury’s reply got off to a poor start when Sam (4 overs 6 for 2 wickets) any Matt (4 overs 8 for 1 wicket) removed both openers for 0 in the first 2 overs. Ash Zee also bowled well taking 1 wicket and conceding just 10 runs off his 4 overs. Davis led the Sarisbury reply with a well made 30* before his mandatory retirement. Sarisbury didn’t really threaten and finished on 76 for 5 -15 runs short of the Portchester total. A huge difference being the extras – we gave away 13 to Sarisbury’s 37. Well done to the Colts who again bowled straight and fielded well.
