We are trying to get the social side of things going a bit more in the off-season. The first meet is

2009 Presentation Evening and Dinner Dance

This year’s Presentation Evening & Dinner Dance is to be held on the 9th of October

at the Royal Naval and Royal Albert Yacht Club, 17 Pembroke Road, Old Portsmouth PO1 2NT. 7pm for 7:30pm start, finish at midnight.

The cost is £25 per head including half a bottle of wine. £15 for under 16s. Cheques to be made payable to Portchester Cricket Club. Keith Wood will be DJ for the night again.

End of Season BBQ – Saturday 29 August

Derek Kelly has kindly offered to hold a BBQ at his house in Soberton Heath (directions to follow) after the last league games on Saturday 29 August.

It will be £5 per head for food and bring your own drinks.

Snooker Night – 29.03.08

The club is having a Snooker Night on Saturday the 29th March, 7:30pm
at the Majestic Snooker Club – 223-225 Kingston Road, Portsmouth, PO2 7EG.

All are welcome – This is a Team-building Night, 1st team players are expected to attend! It would be great to see others there as well.

Hampshire CL Sports Quiz 2008 – 21.02.08

The brains trust of Biggs, Buckle, Gale and Hungerford had a shocker at the Hampshire League’s annual Sports Quiz, held at Bath Lane on the 21st February.

Biggsy filling in for the unavailable Stainton particularly enjoyed his evening!! Although he did make the most of the free sandwiches on offer…

The team’s final score of 116 saw them finish in 7th place on the night [out of 7!] and 19th overall – out of 25. With the top 18 sides going through to the next round, we missed out by one place and by 5 points. Mr Biggs was devastated not to make it through!
